Ocean Platform Marinas (OPM), one of the leading managers of large-yacht marinas in Spain and majority-owned by Ocean Capital Partners, and Global Ports Holding Limited (GPH), the world’s largest cruise port operator with a presence in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and Europe, have today formalised the start of operations of the new cruise and megayacht terminal at the Port of Seville. Both companies will jointly operate under the company Global Ports and OPM Sevilla for the next 25 years, with the aim of turning the Sevilla Cruise Port into a benchmark destination for high-end nautical tourism.
The partnership combines OPM’s operational expertise in managing nautical facilities with GPH’s global know-how in the cruise sector, in order to attract higher value-added calls, optimise services associated with each call, and enhance the passenger experience. The project also includes a strong commitment to urban integration and to strengthening the link between the port and the city.
The concession covers a total area of 5,100 square metres, including the current cruise terminal at the Delicias Quay, its adjacent esplanades and the berthing line. This area is complemented by an additional 1,548 square metres at the Tablada Quay, where the future cruise terminal will be installed in one of the port’s historic warehouses, within the framework of the Urban Port District. Once cruise berthing is relocated to Tablada, the Delicias Quay will operate exclusively as a marina for large yachts.
Throughout the different phases of the project, Global Ports and OPM Sevilla plans to invest more than €5 million, mainly allocated to the development of the new Tablada terminal and the comprehensive improvement of services for cruise ships and megayachts.
